Shaman

Background

Humanity needs the Ancients, but their souls are too weak to communicate with them directly. Shamans use the power of their will and spirit to assist all those who are in need.
They work their wonders by using the power which flows through them as granted to them by the Ancients. For example, it is their connection with Narfas, the spirit of spring water, that allows them will be able to cure wounds, purge magic and revive the fallen.
At the same time they use the element of water to protect their allies. But their will must be strong. Only by sheer will can the power flow through the Shaman from the wellspring of the Ancients.

Specifics

While shamans are able to defend, restore hit points and increase their companions' stats, they also have the power to revive their fallen comrades.
They can wield shields; and only they have the ability to use the element of water to deal damage.
However, their most important role remains calling out for the power of the Ancients and healing wounds during battle.
If a lone wandering shaman is spotted by a party, they may quickly be asked to work together with the other adventurers, since there is rarely anybody willing to pass up on the assistance of the Ancients.
